Brian has nearly 30 years of experience as trial counsel to individuals and businesses, and as General Counsel and member of executive management of international supply chain consultancy.
For sixteen years he has served as primary counsel representing individuals and a wide variety of businesses in bench and jury trials, regulatory and administrative proceedings, and in the North Carolina Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. Representative industries of business clients include, among others, professional services, retail, outdoor advertising, and construction. Matters of individual and business clients include serious personal injury, contracts, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, employment disputes, construction disputes, and a variety of permitting, licensure and regulatory disputes.
Brian spent thirteen years as General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer of a global supply chain consulting company, his responsibilities included Legal, Finance, Human Resources, and IT oversight. During this time he negotiated multi-million dollar major system purchase agreements, and professional service and software license agreements. Additionally, Brian maintained direct responsibility for all corporate governance issues including the management of Delaware holding company and subsidiary operating companies in North Carolina, Canada, and Mexico, and Shanghai, PRC (Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise). His role also included the drafting of all employment related documentation including policies and employee manual, employment agreements, executive compensation plans, omnibus incentive compensation plans, incentive awards, and employment exit documents. Furthermore, he was tasked with the oversight of i) budgeting, ii) financial reporting, iii) banking relationship, including asset based and term financing, iv) external audit, v) human resources, vi) IT, and vii) management of outside counsel.
